What an incredible evening!
Our 31st Annual Auction for the Animals: Rescue Rendezvous was more than a celebration. It was a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together for animals who have nowhere else to turn.
Throughout the evening, guests connected with some of the animals whose lives have been touched by the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs, heard stories of resilience and second chances, and celebrated the countless people who make those stories possible. From an incredible array of auction items to the energy of the live auction, the evening was filled with generosity, laughter, connection and, most importantly, a shared love for animals.
And then came the moment we had all hoped for: together, we exceeded our fundraising goal of $70,000! This money will help cover the gap in our budget experienced by much lower sales at the thrift store due to the highway work’s disruption.
Every dollar raised will help provide the food, medical care, shelter, enrichment and compassionate support that animals in our community need. It means being there for the next animal who arrives frightened and uncertain. It means having the resources to provide care when an animal is sick or injured. And it means helping more animals find the safe, loving futures they deserve.
But the true success of Rescue Rendezvous cannot be measured by a fundraising total alone. It is measured by the lives that will be changed because you showed up.
This evening was made possible by an extraordinary community of people who believe these animals matter. To everyone who donated, sponsored, volunteered, bid, attended, shared our mission, or supported HSPS throughout the year: thank you. Your generosity gives us the strength to keep going, even when the need feels overwhelming.
Rescue Rendezvous reminded us of something we already know: we are stronger together, and when our community comes together, animals get a second chance.
