We are looking for individuals who care deeply about animal welfare in Archuleta county and bring skills in leadership, fundraising, finance, marketing, or community engagement.

Make an impact. Help guide our mission. Be a voice for animals. 

What to expect as a Humane Society of Pagosa Springs Board member:

  1. Board member terms are 2 years. You may serve up to 3 consecutive terms.
  2. On average, service on the Board requires about 8 hours per month.
  3. Board members are expected to provide some donation support of any amount.
  4. Board meetings are the last Tuesday of each month. Meetings are held at 4:30PM in the Thrift Store meeting room with videoconferencing available. Board members are expected to attend 75% of the meetings at a minimum. In addition, board members are expected to stay current with email communications on board matters and to vote on items as necessary between the monthly meetings.
  5. During the nomination process, attend the Board meetings, meet via video conference with the Nominating Committee, and view an online video about service on non-profit boards.
  6. Once elected to the board, either participate in or chair a committee throughout the year or chair one fundraising event or other project per year.
  7. Volunteer for the major annual fundraising event for the Humane Society and participate in the Annual Appreciation Dinner for Volunteers and Staff.
  8. Be passionate about the mission of the Humane Society of Pagosa Springs and adhere to its Code of Ethics.
