Pause on Dog Adoptions

Pause on Dog Adoptions Lifted!

5-20-26: We’re back! All dog adoptions and volunteer activities have resumed as of today. Come find a furry friend!

5-15-26: We are happy to share that the mild respiratory illness at the shelter has been resolved, and we are excited to resume dog adoptions beginning Wednesday, May 20.

We would like to thank our amazing community, volunteers, and supporters for your patience and understanding during this temporary pause.

Our dogs are ready to meet their new families, and we look forward to welcoming adopters back to the shelter starting next Wednesday, May 20th.

5-14-26: All of the pups are currently appearing healthy. We have no dogs exhibiting coughing or other signs of sickness associated with kennel cough at this time. We will remain under quarantine through approximately the end of the month, out of abundance of caution. We’ll have an exact date soon.

4-27-26: Over the last few days, we have identified signs of a possible upper respiratory illness within the shelter. At this time, all animals are doing well, and no one is in distress. However, out of an abundance of caution to protect the health of the animals in our care, and to prevent the possibility of volunteers or guests bringing something home to their pets, we are temporarily postponing dog adoptions, meet-and-greets, and dog related volunteer activities.

We are confident that with early precautions, this will be a short-term situation. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we take proactive steps to ensure the well-being of the pets in our care.

For updates, please keep an eye on our Facebook page, visit our website, or contact the shelter directly at (970) 731-4771.

Thank you for your continued support. We look forward to resuming normal activities soon.
